Running Springs Real Estate: Innertubing - Lots of Wintertime Fun!

On Saturday morning, Michelle and Haley "kidnapped" me and took me to the Snow Drift Snow Tubing area near Snow Valley on Highway 18 just outside of Running Springs.  We got there about 9:30 in the morning and expected it to be packed (since it was the weekend), but there were only about a dozen other people there.

We paid our $5 for parking and $10 each for Michelle and me (Haley was free because she was less than 36 inches tall).  The $10 was per hour and per person, but we were ready to go after 45 minutes.....

After paying and getting your wristband, you pick a tube and head up the wooden stairs that are built into the slope.  To the far right are the small slopes (we started there, not knowing how Haley would react to the downhill speed).  In no time, though, we were perched at the top of the steepest, longest part of the hill.....and Haley loved it.  We were required to put her next to us on the tubes and wrap one arm around her.  She had a blast (though we think her eyes were closed the whole time)!

Here's a picture of my beauties on the slopes.  At this point, they both had jackets on, but after climbing the stairs a few times, we were all pretty warm and the coats came off.

Here they are at the top of the hill:

And here they go!

An Olympic finish!!!

Dad and Haley having a great time.....

There were many more people arriving, just as we were leaving at about 10:15.  Afterwards, we headed back into Running Springs for some brunch.  It was a great morning.  Give it a try next time you're up.  I had never been before, but will definitely go back.  Here is the website for the area:  http://www.snowdrift.net/
